Cuddly Kuala

The reptiles here were part of the Menara Kuala Lumpur tourist experience – a tower a quarter of a mile high in the middle of town. In the 58 seconds it takes to go up you can make friends with the other tourists crammed in the lift, kind of like high altitude speed dating. Thankfully the’re weren’t too many reptiles in the lift because they’re afraid of heights.

I swear Iguanas have to be the laziest animal in the world after sloths. There were a few of them – one had to have its food put into its mouth because it couldn’t be bothered to get down off its perch to eat.

The tower and animal enclosure is in the middle of a large patch of rainforest, which is where we chanced upon the tribe of wild monkeys having a good time.

The one holding the baby gave it to the other large monkey in the foreground, then they all took off with the baby hanging on for dear life underneath. Seems they share the carrying burden around… I think we backpackers need a relay team for our baggage too!
